Feedback is not just about communication

I recently attended a session about feedbacks and I'd like to share some of my thoughts...

Feedback is not just about communication and interaction.

It goes a bit deeper.

Especially for remote workers. Remote work is a challenge in itself - because sitting with someone at the same table and talking is one thing. But it's different online, where a portion of the energy goes into checking the internet, testing if the microphone works, if the headphones are functioning, and many other factors.

In both cases, providing feedback is very important and quite challenging. If you work in an office, it's difficult to find a moment to talk comfortably with someone. If you work online, it's hard to find the right moment, and even in a 1:1 meeting, you have to choose your words carefully to truly "hear" each other.

And if you're giving feedback through text, selecting the right words is crucial.

Do you agree?
